Fairuz Sulaiman is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice encompasses digital and analogue visual formats. He has worked on various projects, including music videos, animation for short films, moving visuals for stage performances, and immersive visual installations. Fairuz employs a range of techniques such as puppetry, 2D/3D animation, and live video mixing.

One of his notable works is "Laksamana Doremix," a hybrid puppetry and multimedia performance that was presented at the National Visual Arts Gallery in Malaysia in 2013. This performance was a continuation of his earlier work at the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media (YCAM) in Japan in 2012. Fairuz has also collaborated with renowned theatre directors, including Zahim Albakri for "Tarap Man" in 2007, Loh Kok Man for "Arus Gangsa" in 2014, and Kwang Tung Dance Company for "Bisikan Monsoon" in 2018, which won the Best Multimedia Design award at the 16th BOH Cameronian Arts Awards.

Fairuz was a recipient of The Japan Foundation Asia Center Fellowship Program in 2015-16. During this time, he conducted research on the usage of media in performing arts in Japan and had the opportunity to shadow practitioners such as Hiroshi Koike, Yoko Ando, and YCAM Interlab.

In 2017, Fairuz's site-specific mobile projection project called "Warung Wayang" was selected to be part of the inaugural Kuala Lumpur Art Biennale. This collaborative project involved artists from Malaysia, Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia and was initially premiered at the Digital Art & Culture (DA+C) Festival in Penang.
