Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac) is a significant institution in Malaysia's arts and cultural scene. It was established in May 2005 as the country's first fully-integrated arts center. The birth of klpac was a result of the devastating flash floods in 2003 that destroyed The Actors Studio@Plaza Putra, prompting the need for a new space for the arts community.

The initiative to create klpac was led by Faridah Merican and Joe Hasham, who were joined by YTL Corporation and Yayasan Budi Penyayang. These organizations collaborated to establish the non-profit arts center, which became a pivotal venue for the arts and cultural life in Malaysia.

klpac is located in an old National Railway (KTM) warehouse in Sentul West, which was made available by YTL Corporation. The venue is renowned for its award-winning architectural design and is considered a historical landmark in Kuala Lumpur.

Since its inception, klpac has served as a home for the arts community, providing a space for local and international artists and troupes to showcase their talent. It has played a crucial role in fostering and supporting the arts in Malaysia, contributing to the vibrant cultural landscape of the country.

On May 9, 2005, klpac officially opened its doors, marking a significant milestone in Malaysia's arts and cultural history. The center continues to host a wide range of performances, including theater, dance, music, and other forms of artistic expression, making it a vital hub for creativity and artistic exploration.
